- Undergraduate students may schedule one 30-minute appointment per week. Personal materials - including graduate school application essays, personal statements, or resumes - cannot be reviewed.
- Graduate students may schedule one 60-minute appointment per week, with a limit of seven visits in a full term (four in a half term), including walk-ins. Writing Workshop instructors can help with UM course writing assignments, dissertation chapters, conference papers, articles, grant proposals, and/or fellowship applications that are at any stage in the writing process.
- Students who are non-native English speakers may schedule one 45-minute appointment per week with an ELI (English Language Institute) instructor during Fall and Winter terms.
- Appointments can be scheduled up to one week in advance.
- Students are responsible for scheduling, modifying, and canceling their own appointments.
- Students modifying or canceling their appointments must do so at least 90 minutes prior to their appointment time; otherwise, they will be considered no-shows and will not be able to schedule another appointment for one week.
- Spring term Writing Workshop runs May 1 - June 18.
